The short answer is YES. Often when someone finds a bat in the house it is one of two times in the season. First, it could be in the springtime when it warms up bats that may be overwintering in your ceiling or roof – or rather hibernating, wake up and instead of making their way back outside, they find their way INSIDE. Secondly, it could be during the time when the first flights are occurring for newborn pups (baby bats). In a cave, they would drop into flight and hopefully make their way back up to the roost, but in a house, they could drop into the living space and simply be unable to find their way back.
